I appreciate this is a sensitive subject but as somebody who was adopted, was anybody on here adopted?

How did that make you feel when you found out? Were you told when you were a child?

How do you think being told that early on in life affected you? Answers greatly appreciated.

You dear girl, if it is to be YOUR story...and, indeed, it can't be anyone else's...then only you can express how this revelation made you feel.

Have known a few persons closely, adopted and loved dearly! Generally the age when 'parents' disclose that information is around 11 for girls and 14 for boys -- could vary in given cases, depending on maturity monitored individually! In most cases they have taken it very well! The urge to find out more is always there, as also the deep sense of gratitude to the 'parents' ! The bonding grew more intimate and the development, all round, was not adversely affected, in the cases known to me! I am sure your story will be interesting, informative and socially helpful to many families: best of luck!

You certainly have a lot of company in dealing with this.
You are entitled to feel your own feelings whether or not anyone else shares them. The important thing is to be willing to explore and get to really know your own feelings. Then by expressing them, you may be a big help to others. Good luck with your writing.
