Wait 100 years and if it still survives at least it is an antique--I, too, broke down, and in my case bought a Charles and Diana tea caddy, while trying to spend my last bit of change before leaving Gatwick in July 1981. [I left the UK exactly a week before the "wedding of the century".] I'm cheered by the fact that growing up I remember a Queen Victoria Jubilee pin tray that took pride of place on my grandmother's dressing table. I never asked, but always supposed it was a family heirloom.

If it was a Silver Jubilee coin, we were all given them. There will be thousands around. Likewise, Charles & Di coins. There will probably only be worth their face value. EDIT If they are solid silver, they will be worth either the face value, or the price of the silver, whichever is greater.

They are modern 1 crown coins struck in copper-nickel alloy with the face of 25 pence each. These 3 types were mass produced and worth atmost 1 pound in uncirculated condition and 2 pounds in gem uncirculated. I have a few of each type and got them in a bulk purchase for less than a pound each on average. They have higher values if in Royal Mint folder or silver versions.

They were all so mass produced that no, they are not worth more than face value. If they are kept in your family then in about 1000 years from now they might be worth 2 bronze coins or whatever the currency is at that time.
