You are right! Add to that the indiscriminate reclamation from river beds, small streams, natural canals and estuaries to enhance land areas! We are asking for trouble, big trouble, by interfering with eco' balance!

I believe it's true. I live in the south where there are a massive amount of subdivisions are being built. Right now house constructions is at an almost standstill but they continue to clear cut massive farmlands to be ready for a housing boom. And where are we? In the biggest drought ever seen!!! It makes me sick. All this land sitting barron for months and years. Do people not understand that if we do get a large amount of rain, what it will do? Do they not understand that we need the trees? I'm afraid we will pay for our ignorance or are paying for it now! I don't understand the clear cutting when most people want trees in their yard!!!
