I'm talking about when a specific concert will say, for example, tickets on sale June 30 at 10am... You can still buy tickets from other sites already, just not TicketMaster until that time and date

How does that work?

If you can buy tickets before the onsale time that is shown on ticketmaster, they're not real tickets. If Ticketmaster is selling the tickets then it is the only company doing so, no one else would have the rights to that event, sort of like what Tom said.

Ticketmaster may not have the contract rights to sell those tickets - the concert promoter may have negotiated with someone else
