The essence of any religion is faith...ie the belief in something in the absense of proof. Whereas, reason or rationality, demands belief only if there is proof. When the world gives up reason to decide the outcome of any argument...then the only thing left is guns and clubs. Mysticism and faith are the two greatest destroyers in the world and always have been the greatest sources of destruction and death. We must give up the caveman explanations for what goes bump in the dark...or we will truely find ourselves at the threshold of another Dark Age.

Teach people to love themselves. This will lead to them loving others. Which will lead to world peace. Show me a violent man & I will show you a man who hates himself. A man who never learned to love himself because he was never shown love.

It starts in childhood. Children are an enormous responsibility. You are molding a human life. If a child is neglected or abused, they learn that the world is a cruel place & they react accordingly, turning their pain & hatred either inward on themselves or outward to others.

The answer to all the world's problems, the meaning of life, is so simple & yet so hard to achieve: love.

If your question signifies that you believe in human capacity to be good beyond the confines of race, culture and religion then I agree with you. This in fact is the fact in observation as an emerging reality of out time. We see today people interacting with other people living thousands of miles away without bothering too much about what they believe in, only considering if they think like us. I think this is great sign of hope for the mankind reeling with instances of violence, materialistic limitation, ideological oppressions, issues of inequality and war. I think this is great that people can talk to each other and bring out in open the essential capacity of human mind, capacity to be good and not get overly influenced by dividing realities of human condition.

If this goes on then eventually people will regain new undiscovered attribute into a collective mindset; people will become aware of the issues of mankind is different very way. This is the zone in the collective mind, as collective consciousness, that we desperately need to visit, to breathe in and to think what otherwise in unthinkable in the sordid environments of the things lingering on with us since ages.

All this is already happening. A change is already taking place in our lives. But we can accelerate its pace just by becoming aware of it, and by participation in it actively.

As you say, love and service is not taking front and center stage as is should. People are too concerned with conversions rather than getting along with each other.

Flood the earth and let the penguins have it. There will always be strife as long as there are people. We fight to live and live to fight. Like I said, flood the earth and let the penguins have it.
