i can only remember it's about a woman who starts to get a growth on her back and a creature comes out of it. i think it's 70's or 80's. i remember a big bridge in it, maybe brooklyn bridge!?!

...the setting of the film, if I recall correctly was San Francisco, hence the image of the bridge; the film, however, is definitely the 1978 horror shocker, "The Manitou". Being in the wrong place at the right time, a woman births the reincarnation of a 400 year old Indian medicine man on her back...who intends to release a godly, all-powerful force upon civilization!!!
Starring Tony Curtis, Susan Strasburg, Stella Stevens, Burgess Meredith, and Michael Ansara, as the last living (and understandably reluctant) practitioner of the ancient Indian medicine man practices.
Anchor Bay Entertainment recently released a pristine print of the film on DVD.
