An association or tie you will not readily give up because it means a lot to you. Why would I want to give up something I love? To me, love has more to do with my activities that allow self-expression and reason for living than love toward another being/person. Love for a certain activity or certain activities is most fulfilling sort of love. Love for a pursuit/love for knowledge/love for something is far more rewarding.
