Moshing, or slamdancing, is a type of dance characterized by audience members aggressively pushing or slamming into each other. It is frequently if not invariably accompanied by stage diving, crowd surfing, and/or headbanging, though incarnations of the dance are specific to music genre, scene, and era. It is commonly associated with hardcore punk, and metal music genres, but has expanded into more popular hard rock genres as well. Moshing has been described as "one of the most energetic, crazed, communal forms of dancing ever invented.". While moshing is occasionally done to recorded music, it is far more prevalent at live shows

Alllow the wikipedia speak.

"slam dancing" is moshing.
its where people push against, bang into and generally slam into eachother for fun.
it is very tiring and uses lots of energy.
It is a form of dancing and can be done to the beat of the music playing, or not.

You usually mosh in 'pits' circles in a crown where people gather to mosh. People only mosh with other people who mosh because we are not hooligans we just enjoy doing it.

you can mosh to anything but its easier to mosh (or slam dance) to rock/metal/emo/scremo/alternative/raveor dance music. as the pace is much faster.

Everyone who moshes are NOT on drugs. however with anything you cant guarantee it.

Hope this Helps Explain in a non high fluted kind of way x

It's a bunch of drugged out people slamming into each other. It's not really dancing at all, because they don't move to the beat.
