I'm a recovering alcoholic. I don't believe much in AA, but they claim that forgiveness must be bought back. We must do what it takes when it is possible to seek a forgiveness so we can move on without feeling burdened. We free ourselves from our past. If you have to apologize to someone even if it puts you in danger, even danger of prison, it is much better to make that ammend than to live with it.

Like I said, I don't believe much in AA.

Well, a long time ago the Christian Church sold 'indulgences'
But truly, I don't think any of us can really 'purchase' forgiveness.
Money can just be some kind of a compensation, maybe....
