you seriously need to go to the doctor!!! It could be something as simple as an ingrown hair, or it could be the start of something far more serious!!!PS: if it is an ingrown hair and you try and you mess with it you could potentially makes matters worse by getting it infected or something! I would go to the ob/gyn ASAP!!!

Unfortunately, this sounds alot like a herpes outbreak. You will have to get tested to make sure. You can try going to a naturalist store and get some cream from there. I think it's red seaweed, or something like that. Do an internet search first to see recommended treatments. However, you should just go to the doctors. Outbreaks can last for days, even into weeks without treatment if that is what it is. Whereas a doctor can do a simple bloodtest and find out relatively quickly if it's the case. You may have to wait a few days depending on where the lab work is done. If you don't have the money, go to a free health clinic where they do the work on a sliding income scale. You'll still have to pay some, but a little is better than alot if you don't have insurance. For your sake, I hope it's not what it seems, but just in case...no sex for several days even after it stops hurting, and get to the doctors.
If you have been in an sexual encounter/relationship in the past, some std's don't show up right away. So, although you're ruling out that as an option, the only way to truly rule it out is to go to the docs.

Im not really sure if you have herpes or not.I had one of those too but it wasnt herpes,i believed i scracthed myself down there real hard[i have very long nails].Mines was near the left vaginal lip.
The most common sign of herpes is red, sensitive skin that develops sores or blisters (often referred to as herpes bumps). These lesions usually show up in and around the genital area, although female symptoms of herpes may cause these blisters to develop inside the vagina. Other signs and symptoms of genital herpes includes headaches, lower back pain, muscle aches and fever. In women, herpes symptoms can also include vaginal discharge and pain or a burning sensation when urinating.
Boil treatment is very important. If left untreated, genital boils can spread and/or become infected. If it becomes infected, antibiotics are necessary.
.... there is a very safe and effective treatment for a boil on labia. It disinfects the area of the boil, prevents the infection from spreading, and helps to speed up the healing process. It's called Bexatrol,i believe.
Now,there is many causes for an annoying boil in ur ****. :] .It's usually either an ingrown hair caused it or a break in the skin or cut [like in my painful experience.] So it might not be herpes,so chill.lol.
Washing your skin with antibacterial soap will prevent bacteria from building up and infecting your pores. The regular use of an exfoliating-textured brush or sponge, like a loofah,u know those net-like sponges, often helps. It will help to break up oil plugs that build up around hair follicles.

Sorry to say but I think you have Herpes.I know this from experience.I got it from my ex 7 years aga unknowingly and had exactly what you are explaining.I would get to the Dr.asap and he will take a swab to say for sure but there are not to many other things that are gonna give you a boil on your vagina to be honest. You can get herpes anywhere from 2 to 30 days after having sex protected or unprotected. The first outbreak is usually the worst and hurts like nothing else except giving birth. They usually lessen from there in duration and how many "boils" there are.Now I only get maybe 1 or sometimes no outbreaks a year.I am one of the lucky ones though. There is no cure for this and it is spread easily. I hope for your sake it is not this so go to the Dr and prove me wrong.Good luck and stay safe.

If it is just one 'boil' and not many boils, it sounds like a Bartholins Cyst. This is a cyst that swells and becomes very painful and can continue to grow in size. It is excruciating!

Do not delay, no creams will sort this one. You need a course of antibiotics orally. To delay would risk this thing getting bigger and then you may need surgery to drain it.
Go see your Doctor today.

It could be a cyst or even just a boil. It's certainly not an emergency but if you are concerned and it doesn't go away in a few days schedule doctor's appointment.

You could try using triple antibiotic ointment if it is sold over the counter in the UK like it is here in the U.S. because this sounds like you might be dealing with a pimple.
I would recommend contacting your dr as well to see what they say.
