When was it ever otherwise?

You tell me. I'm a student of history and I am not aware of any time in which men were not killing others. The jungle might just be a little safer than most of our societies.

But 90 percent or more of society is pretty safe, so I wouldn't get overly depressed if I were you. Try to make your corner of the world a better place. I'll work on mine.

There will always be people who try to live outside our laws, and in our society we rely on the Police to catch them and stop them. It's only when the bad guy tries it on with someone capable of fighting back that we are reduced to the Law of the Jungle; claw against claw, tooth against tooth.

But there is always hope, because I believe that most people, given the choice between evil behavior and good behavior, will choose good.

I believe that the examples you provided are just anomalies in society. (both intra and international).

We humans aren't THAT bad you know...

No, we cannot have life of junggal. We have burnt down and destroyed all the junggal.
