"First of all we have Morocco. We drove up to Lisbon late this afternoon to catch a flight to Casablanca where embassy officials will meet us. We were surprised to learn that a 20 seat propeller plane was sent instead of the larger aircraft. Luckily Kate, Clarence and I got squeezed on although we were certainly rather apprehensive about flying on such an aircraft- it reminded us of some of the internal flights we took in New Zealand in the mid 90’s."
Squeezed on a 20 seat flight? Oh how terrible..fancy having to sit on a 20 seater plane squashed up like sardines while Madeleine is going through God only knows what..I guess they have been spoilt by the private jet ride to Rome. Does this comment incense anyone else or is it just me?

Lona, the quote displays obvious displeasure at the plane that was "sent" for them to fly on. Personally, if i was on a mission to find my daughter i'd be grateful for all the help i could get - when you are getting all expenses paid travel at the hands of the public you have no right to complain. My own personal comfort would not be my priority at the moment if i was Gerry, that is what i find unbelievable.

Noodle - so what if they were? Us mere mortals have to travel on public transport with (gasp!) OTHER PEOPLE, what makes the McCanns any different?

Death Bunny - I entirely take your point that the written word can be open to interpretation, which is why i could easily overlook one or two untoward comments. However with Gerry McCann, these "slips of the tongue" are all he ever comes out with whether its in his blog or in interviews - his attitude comes across equally well.

Lulu, cheers for the link.
It is amazing how Gerry's focus was on how 'dodgy' a 20 seater aircraft is rather than the terror his daughter is going through.
I do love the way he said 'I was surprised they sent a 20 seat plane' as though he's lord of the manor and is upset that one of his minions didnt fetch him a larger aircraft.
And do we care that the plane journey reminded of an experience 10 years ago, half way round the world? Uh, no Gerry we dont!!!
That Clarence Mitchell is certainly getting to fill out his passport nicely isnt he. He's done more travelling now than he ever did with the BBC.
Oh and one final point, im glad they did brave the journey despite the rubbish plane. I hope Madeleine appreciates the efforts they are going to for her.

it's harsh whats happened to the little girl, and I hope that she is ok, I tend not to follow all this kinda stuff day to day but...
quick question of why are they doing all the travelling?
I think some of what he says can be overlooked to an extent, I know that if my own kid was missing, I wouldn't be thinking of exactly what I'm saying I'd be more concerned as to where my kid is!
and frankly I wouldn't care if I needed to sqeeze into a trailer filled with goats or whatever, if I had to sit on the floor on a "20 seater plane" I wouldn't care, it would be the last thing on my mind.
Now if the plane smelt like fuel, was missing half it's windows and someone had to hold the door closed while in flight... yeah complain.
Maybe he's being overly critical about things as a way to vent his frustration and keep himself sane.
and I hate to sound rude or non caring here, but there not parents of the year leaving their kid in a room alone, I don't care if they were checking in every hour or whatever.
kid alone in hotel room = BAD
they should consider themselves lucky with any aid they receive, if it's top class great, if not who cares as long as it's helping find your kid!
Think about other parents who's children go missing, in this country, on holiday etc, who get no media coverage and no help as such!

while human beings have being announcing it relatively is in simple terms one massive media circus marketing campaign from the McCanns, the experts have being announcing, you are able to keep champaigning ( you're able to do even though it takes ) nicely your guy Gerry is now thinning out the marketing campaign, and Madeleine has nevertheless no longer been got here across, what's going to he do along with his million plus? And what he mentioned relating to the rhys jones case having closure beggers concept. And is he truly nevertheless soliciting for fund funds?

Oh come on people. Gerry keeps putting his feet into his mouth everytime. Sure shows where his priorities and concern lies. I would think after the couple crazy blogs he wrote one of his 'advisors' would correct his insane statements. It's been all abot Kate and Gerry from day one....instead of Madeleine, the true victim.

i cant get my head round this whole affair whatsoever. Is Gerry McCann off his head he sounds like an ungrateful B****
to me he is lucky to be getting any help he should get off his butt and look for the wee girl instead of trying to get into celebrity status i,ve never heard of anything like this in all of my life. I felt sorry for them at the beginning of this but this is the strangest way of trying to find a child. Maybe an online psychologist could tell us something about this oddball.

A typical quote from this selfish man.
Oh Dear, What a Hardship Gerry. I'm sure we all feel sorry for you. Will have to contribute to your Private Company, so that you and Kate can buy a Private Company Jet.
This Man & his Wife have incensed me from the start. If they had put the needs of the Children first, none of this would have happened. But then they wouldn't be treated as Celebrities with an ever increasing income.

where was this quoted from?
that man and his arrogrance has never failed to amaze me.
maybe his entourage is getting too big.
on GMTV this morning Sara Payne was on the couch, and they showed old footage of her family walking along a beach, not waving like the McCanns do on their global tour but with dignity and respect and obviously in deep pain which i feel takes a lot of courage considering the out come.
i know the McCanns case is different as Madeleine is yet to be found, they the McCanns could learn a lot from this lady

I think its time people stopped wasteing their hard earned cash on Team McCann and let them dip into their own pockets to fund their world tour, after all it's them to blame that poor wee girl is missing, so why traet them like celebrities?

I would indeed be prudent to use the small propeller craft, as it would cost less to run and have a smaller impact on the environment that a larger jet.
That the McCanns fail to appreciate this could be attributed to their preoccupation with their missing child.

This couple should be grateful for all the attention and public help they (and their daughter) are getting
If the children of Palestine, Dafar, Iraq or the Congo got half this attention and assistance, all the wars would have been over by now.
I pray to God she is safe and they get her back.
