err. Maybe equal.
A punch really hurts but at least it goes numb so the pain isn't so bad.
A slap just stings.
I'd prefer a punch if i had to chose one.

punched in the face. definitely. i got punched in the nose, and it bled for a while. a slap cant do that.

a slap leaves a bad sting and everything
but a good swift punch hurts alot more.
