I started wearing contact lenses and realized I can't sleep with them else my eyes are bloodshot, because not enough oxgyen reaches them.
I can only think of one answer: when we close our eyes blood vessels in our eyelids supply the oxygen needed.

Your eyes are never fully closed when sleeping. Plus they get it from the oxygen in your veins.

No, the retina has a rich blood supply. It is the cornea that receives oxygen directly from the air, but the cornea has a low metabolism, so it would be difficult to starve it of oxygen.

Tears supply the oxygen when we sleep to the outer surface. The eye itself is supplied by blood vessels.

What is this break through material ?? I have to where a black out contact to prevent double vision. But it is not letting enough ox through. Any info would be great !

r eyes are not tightly sealed or fused shut while sleeping , we are in a relaxed phase and i eyes are slighty shut where o2 makes it's way in the eye

When you sleep your eyes are not glued **** meaning there is oxygen!
