I have been on yasmin for over 4 years now. I hardly ever take it at the same time everyday. I have yet to get pregnant and I have intercourse very often. I would recommend try to keep it around the same time everyday, but on some days it is understandable that you just don't have the time to get to it. Although you do realize the pill is not fully affective until 6 weeks after you started taking them, having unprotected sex before the end of 6 weeks could be a problem. After that I think you will be alright with the varying of an hour or two.

Taking your pill at the same time is not only the most effective way to take your pill in terms of pregnancy prevention, but it will also help you to get into a routine so you are more likely to remember to take it each day. If you take your pill at a time when you are likely to be at home, try setting your alarm clock for "pill time" until it becomes a habit. Leave notes for yourself on your medicine cabinet or refrigerator. Combine taking your pill with some other daily activity that's already a once-a-day habit like taking your vitamins or eating dinner.
Take it as soon as you remember. Take the next pill at your regular time. This means you may take two pills in one day. With perfect use, meaning that the Pill is taken at the same time every day, exactly as directed, the Pill is more than 99% effective. With typical use, meaning that the Pill is not always taken exactly as directed, the Pill is more than 95% effective.

It should still work ok even if the time is altered a little bit but sometimes the change in the time of the dose can affect the cycle even further.

I would also recommend checking with your dr to see what they say about this.

its best to always take the pill at the same time each day. you will probably be ok since you havent had sex with your guy in a while. I take it right before I go to bed, it helps me remember when I brush my teeth at night.
