Of course, I could live without a woman. I'm happy with my own company, and not so insecure that I've always got to have somebody by my side. Having said that, though, I've been in a relationship for a long time. But if that were taken away from me, I wouldn't collapse, and if I didn't find somebody else right away, that would be fine.

Any man can live without a woman, surely, but generally the ones that do are either:
a) batting for the other team so they don't swing that way
b) dedicated to a higher purpose or calling that makes them busy/celibate or both i.e. priests/monks

Yes. I know a man who is about 80. He was a shepherd and lived alone from about his teens on. As far as anyone knows, he has never had a girlfriend. He's not gay either.
