in order to run a dot net program on a win98 machine the win98 machine must have the dot net framework installed.

You cannot write dot net code on a win98 machine as the dot net development systems (Visual Studio) will not run on win98

You can install the older Visual Studio 6.0 and earlier on win98.


Deploying the dot net with your application is easiest in the newest edition Visual Studio 2005

On main menu click Project > myProgramName_Properties
Click on the Publish tab and click the prerequisites button
from the list check the dot net framework.
