i rate him 8 out of 10. He's one of the best power forwards in the league, who can shoot short range jumpers efficiently and block shots. I agree, that he's a shorter version of Tim Duncan, where maybe height, and decision making can be elton's downfall in some cases. However, i believe he can be a championship player, however he needs a better team. Basketball is a team sport, and he needs better role players and a better point guard to accomodate him. Look at the Spurs, they have tony, and manu to support Tim Duncan, then they have all these other players who help on Defense (bowen, horry, oberto, elson) and ppl who can step up on offense. The clippers have maggette who i believe is a great player if he worked on he's shooting and passing. They NEED a point guard. Period. Kaman is promising, however this season, he proved to be nothing but a bust, always in foultrouble. cat mobley is a great player, but he's very hot and cold. Brand is the only consistent player, which doesn't say much for the clippers.

I like him too and I'd rate him 8.5. I like fundamentally sound players such as Tim Duncan and I think Elton Brand is a smaller version of TD. I think he's the strongest PF pound for pound. Great post-up player with a reliable perimeter jumper, strong rebounder and defender. Had he been 7 feet instead of 6'8", Shaq wouldn't have been MDE and the Clippers would've been the most popular team in L.A.

Brand is 10 in my book too. He is a regular 20 10 guy, with a couple of block shot and mid jumper also.
In my book, hes the most consistent player throughout the NBA.

7. He's not an explosive type player. Just an ordinary star player in a bad team like Pau Gasol. No offense though.

I'll rate him 8 this season, I'd give him 9 last season because this season he's very slow at giving help on perimeter pick and roll. That's why clippers missed playoff this season.

I do not think you will find a lot of people who dislike Brand.
I think that you will find that there are probably not a lot of people who knows him.
I think he is great as a athlete and as a person.
