this was in the last segmant of his latest statement. it made my blood run cold.
"The couple have said they have no intention of returning to the UK at least until the end of the summer and Mr McCann, a cardiologist, rejected suggestions he was planning to go back to work part-time.
"I might have to go home for meetings, but Kate and I have no immediate plans to leave Portugal," he said.
"I cannot think about anything else at the moment other than finding Madeleine. I do not know if I would be safe to go back and practise as a doctor at the moment."
The McCanns are due to fly from Casablanca to Lisbon before driving down to the Algarve, where their daughter was kidnapped."
if they fell they have done nothing wrong why is he making a statment like that. whats up jerry are you afraid of getting what you deserve, and are you scaird that someone will take the law into there own hands and get justice for maddy. maybe now you are starting to realise how scaird maddy must have been eh???

cavorim, maybe he should have been that responsible when they left their children alone. now all of a sudden he has value's,give me a break. all he ever does is talk about himself.his feelings, his emotions, his pain!! WHAT ABOUT MADDY??? its a shame he didnt have the same sense of duty to his daughter as he has for his patients, but lets face it if he did something wrong in the theater he would definatly be in trouble for neglegence then wouldnt he. maddys plight seems to have took a back seat whilst jerry contiues to steal the lime light away from her. i bet the twins are an emotional wreck considering the mc canns have left them to go on tour. yet again they have left theri children. our thoughts are with maddy and the twins, after all it is them that have suffered.

"exasperated" just because i dont share you opinion that does not give you the right to think you are judge and jury on these kind of quetions. everyone has the right to their own opinion, and freedom of speech. so instead of insulting other user's that dare to disagree with you, remember one long hard fact,THEY LEFT THEIR CHILDREN ALONE. IT IS CHILD NEGLECT.

yet again piltdown man insults anybody who's opinion is different from his. you try and justify your clear racism. in your profile. this is not a hate campaign,it is genuine concerns that 3 children were left alone,in a foriegn country in an unlocked apartment while they went for food and wine. why did they not show more responsability towards their children by staying in the apartment and using the baby sitting facility. its not as if they are short of cash now is it. one day when you have children you will understand why it is plainly unacceptable to leave 3 very young children to fend for themselves. he seems to have more of a sense of duty to his patients rather than to his children. while they have been on "tour" their twins have been without their parents,IS THAT FAIR ON THEM?? NO.

I think what he was meant to imply was that he would not be safe doing his job with madeleine on his mind at the moment. However, like most things the McCanns have said since this all started, this is not very clear, does not make sense, has many inaccuracys and things that just dont add up, so you are probably indeed right. I do totally agree and have no doubt theat they will get lynched if they return to the UK, so perhaps they are "in their opinion" better off where they are!

Piltdown Man: Sigh, you are once again lablelling us has hate campaigners. Personally, looking at your profile, the only one inciting to hate is you. You are clearly a racist, yet you claim that users on here who want justice for Maddy are inciting hate! I don't see how that adds up!
From your comments, it seems as though you think people who believe in justice are hate campaigners, and yet you have racist views and say that is right. It makes no sense.

i find it very hard to believe that madeleine is on his mind so much. reading his blog, it sure doesn't look that way. He's more concerned with the size of the plane he's on, his birthday, how sean likes seafood now, all the stuff that no normal person would give a care about if at the moment their child was missing.

I think he means that it won't be safe for his patients because he wouldn't be able to concentrate properly. Perhaps if they called a halt to their celebrity lifestyle, went home and provided a stable family routine for the twins he might get back to work sooner. I can't see that happening because, so far, the twins seem to come a very poor second in their general plans.
I bet the Portuguese are really pleased to have them throughout the tourist season!

First dont slate me here because I am not defending this guy by no means but I would guess it is because he thinks his emotional state (which I have not noticed) would interfere with his job and well if someone was upset, distraught, had their mind on serious matters I would not wanting them cutting me open. I believe it is another charade however because he seems to beable to handle his emotions well obviously.

I knew they had no intentions of going back to work. Why do you think they opened up a Limited Company, so that they could draw their loss of earnings off it. They must both be highly insured, otherwise they would not of come up with this plan. It all sounds like one big CON to me.

I would imagine that he ment that he would be scared to carry out an operation. He's a cardio heart surgeon, not the kind of job you can do if you're in the slighest bit distracted.
Personally I think you misread what he said.

This , at the very least, is a very feeble attempt at trolling. I hope no-one else follows up with additional comments because it will be fuelling the fire for those bored and lonely people who have nothing better to do than attack a couple who have had their child abducted. Please don't add comments about how they deserve it etc etc.
Here's the answer to your question.
He's a cardiologist. He specialises in problems with blood vessels and the heart. If I had heart problems I wouldn't want him advising me when his mind might be elsewhere.
