they currently both use a full tank of hot water for each of their showers, which means they have to wait for the tank to refill after the other has gotten out

what's the difference?? each person has to get under the water and do their thing.. that is going to take twice as much water because there are two bodies.. if you've ever showered before you'd know that there is only enough water coming out for one body.. i'd say this is just a scam to see your female roomie nekkid!! lol

Two or more men taking a shower togheter do not necessarily mean that they are homosexuals. Soldiers do take showers togheter, in the barracks ussually there are no individual showers, but public showers. Also seen in gyms, saunas, and other places. Not all people that use public showers are homosexuals. From wikipedia: Following in the tradition of ancient Greece, many modern athletic and aquatic facilities are equipped with showers. These can be in the form of individual stalls equipped with curtains to maintain privacy or of group shower rooms much like those pictured on ancient Greek pottery. The latter is generally a large open room with several nozzles, or shower heads, either installed directly into the walls of the room or on posts throughout the space. In addition to washing after vigorous exercise, a variety of shower has been brought into use by governments and their military forces around the world, this is called the field shower. Modern weapons used in battle often have dangerous after effects including: caustic chemicals, deadly biological agents, and radioactive materials. Not only can these harm the intended targets, but also the aggressor’s forces. As a result, field showers are often employed to remove these potentially deadly weapons from a soldier’s body.

That is a great idea! I think I might have some cards made up to give to a new girlfriend asking if she wants to shower with me to conserve water.

I dont see anything wrong with it, you guys are just good friends.
it's probably just normal. I used to take showers with my friends [girls] when I was around that age. I don't think that there is really anything wrong with that. They will probably grow out of it soon. :]

Firstly I live in Australia and despite our recent floods it still breaks my heart to hear that there are people like you and your roommate that would waste that much precious water.
Secondly, it is fine to shower together as long as you don't kid yourself it's because you need to chat and save water. That's the most stupid thing i've ever heard.

Maybe I should shower with my neighbor in the interest of conversation. I am sure his wife would appreciate it.
