In Pirates of the Caribbean The Curse of the Black Pearl, Will and Jack flipped a boat and walked underwater to board one of the ships. While walking underwater their upside down boat wasn't filled with water. Is that really possible?

For the movie, was likely a trick, but physics prove that it could be done for a short period of time. Fill up your sink, then take a glass and insert it upside down into the water...an air pocket is created. In the glass, with nothing to use up the oxygen in the air, it could remain for a long time (much longer than you would want to try to hold it down, for sure). If you had a creature that breathed oxygen using up the air, the oxygen would be usuable for a short period of time until all of the oxygen is used up and the "air" left would be carbon dioxide....even if the boat stayed under then, the people that were under it would die due to lack of oxygen.

The boyancy of the boat with that much air in it would probably be too difficult to hold underwater for that long.

Yes, it is possible because the pressure of the air in the boat keeps the water from coming in. It is similar to how a diving bell works.

Yes it works as long as the boat is not too heavy and remains buoyant. It is a technique that is trained in survival classes.
