to a certain level i believe that being a genius is natural to the people who are but those kind of ppl do continue to learn once they've found out how smart they are.so in the end i would have to say it's a mixture of both. for example say at the age of 12 u find out that u have a knack for singiing well u have to work at that to be beta.

No status in this world comes naturally.
It is not in your genes to be lazy, a compulsive shopper, a cheater, or anything else.
To be a genius you have to earn that status by studying your but off.

your genes have to be fair but, most of it, is what you learn and how hard you work at it. Some peoples brains are more disposed to retaining knowledge and others have to logically teach it too...
alot of this is put into action during the early early stages of childhood.
