through Yahoo Answers. I'm not saying anybody is. But, you can never be too careful on here. I've never used my real name, never given my location. I'll say my age, but there are a million people in my age with my name. But, do you think people can find out who and where you are. I don't let people contact me through e-mail.

What do you think? You can never be too careful online.

I was paranoid for the first four or five of the twelve years I have used the Internet. The old saying "There is safety in numbers" along with most Internet sites in place security makes me think there are millions of people more interesting than me to hack or stalk.

I don't believe anyone could physically stalk you. However you can have a YA stalker; that is someone who goes to everyone of your questions and makes nasty comments, goes to all of your answers and either reports you for abuse or gives your answer a poor rating. There have been cases on here where one person says awful things about another member whom he/she does not even know. These people seem harmless but if you have to close down your account it can be very inconvenient and is something you should not have to do.

Nothing is foolproof. The best thing to do is not provide any personal info when you sign up for this type of thing. Give a fake address and a fake name. I did.

Not really, unless you are giving email addresses, phone number, address, etc... Just don't give out personal information to anyone on the internet. You never know who is behind that keyboard!!
