Inbound passengers to Dubai are not allowed to purchase liquor from flight or duty free shops. Permitted for transit and outbound passengers only
If your final destination is Male then of course you can buy from Dubai airport duty free shops.

You are not allowed to take liquids from London in the departure lounge. BUT you should be allowed to buy liquids from Dubai.
By the way, if you are going 4 hols in Dubai soon, fly to Abu Dhabiairport as there is no traffic all the way to Dubai and passport control is a breeze while Dubai airport is a NIGHTMARE!
The one below is wrong as you are not even allowed to buy liquids through Heathrow security! Anyway, Dubai's cheaper by a little.

You can purchase both soft drinks and alcohol at Dubai Duty Free.
Once you are through security at Heathrow, you can buy duty free there and soft drinks to take on the flight. These items have all been checked which is why they are alowed. Any liquids you buy prior to security will be taken from you; this includes some items of cosmetics so take care if you are thinking of buying sun creams or face creams. When we were last year, someone had spent nearly 40 GBP in Body Shop and had them taken off her. You would have thought the staff would have told her.
