Well right now I realy want to go to Warped Tour. My dad will let me but he kind of doesent like teh music so he makes fun of me. He wants to take me to Ozzfest. I like Ozzfest but I have never been to Warped and I have been wanting to go for a long time now. But the thing is he got a few beers in him and we were outside and he started sayin that its retard music in front of his friends and caling me a retard. I just walk in and locked myself in my room. Later he comes and trys to tell me that he gives me everything I could ever want. How he is just trying to give me a better life than his. How he works hard. But I know that. The thing that bothers me is when he starts making fun of me. Or he will call me cuss words out of nowhere. But then he tells me he loves me I know he does. But then he brought up my best gilfriend calling her an idiot because she didnt get out out of the street when we were driving by. It ticked me off since I care for her to just hear him sayit.what shall i do?

Have you reciprocated love and effection shown by yours dad. If not reciprocate that immediatly. He also deserve love and respect at this age.
Things will change dramatically when U will start this game.

Dads can be like that. So sorry that you are letting his ignorance disturb you so deeply. Unfortunately, we can't choose your parents. People that drink heavy, say horrible things when they are drinking. Just go to your room and remember that it is the alcohol that is talking. Just make sure that you learn something from what he is doing, and that you do not do that to your children.
I am sure that your dad loves you, and probably does not realize how much he hurts you. Just don't carry your feelings on your shoulder. Try to forgive him, and do what you know is right.

Your dad sounds awesome! It sounds to me like he is just trying to joke around with you. Maybe you can joke back with him, like when he calls you a retard say, "apple doesn't fall far from the tree does it dad?". Maybe at some point bring it up to him that you really value your relationship with him but it really bothers you when he criticizes you.

your dad could be under a strees that you don't know about and taking it out on you but that dose not make it ok. I would sit down and tell him that he really hurts you when he say's such things about you to his friends and about your friend. you need to let him know how you feel other wise he wont know and think that it dose not bother you.
