do you assume the worst so no matter what happens, it's better than you anticipated?

I'm sure thinking positive is a better way to go, but my whole family is like this. it's a hard habit to break.

I always come up with a worst case scenario ... like i'll walk into my job on the first day, throw up all over my boss, break a computer, set off an alarm, spill bleach all over my new work shirt, and then fall on the bleach... forget my lunch and my ride will be 2 hours late picking me up.

i can say with reasonable confidence my day will be better than that!!!

do you do anything like that?

I guess that's an alright thing for you to do. If you assume the worst case scenario (spewing on your boss) chances are it defenitely wont happen, so it can only get better.

By thinking the worst, you are open for the best!

I am the same sometimes.

i always plan for the worst case scenario cuz i dun want to be taken off guard..i was a project manager for 4 years and trust me when i say worst case scenario helps me alot....it made me more resourceful, clam when there's choas...

is not that i have low expectations or anything like that..is just that is better to have more the 1 plan on hand cuz you'll never know when and where is gonna be the rainy day that u heard of so often...

a special forces solider told me once..always have a good escape plan or plan B..cuz plan A never surive 1st contact..

hey, it never hurts to "prepare for the worst, and hope for the best" ...but when I spill coffee on myself, first thing on the way to work, I know for sure, bad day!

The nice part about being a pessimist is that you are constantly being either proven right or pleasantly surprised.
That is ME TOO !

If you always expect the worst, you'll never be disappointed.

Yes, I do the same thing. I don't overdo it, though. I think positive often also.
