Yes, having been a policeman for 21 years I have had friends on COPS and sadly enough after I got divorced, the apartments I first lived in had COPS film there also.
Now that is truly sad when COPS films where you live. The multiple murders within 5 blocks however were what really convinced me "it's time to move!"

Back in the very early days of "Cops" they featured the West Hollywood Sheriffs Office and Deputy Sean Collinsworth. I worked with his wife, Tracy, and he used to drop by our department now and then.
It was funny because he would use 10 codes on the phone and I would have to say "I'm sorry, sir, I don't speak '10'."
Ex: He'd call and ask for his wife's 10-20, which in 10 means "what's her location?" My department did not use those codes.

No, but there was a girl I knew whom I could very well imgaine being in a trailer park holding 5 kids and smoking while yelling " I seen him officer! I swear I seen him!"
