If you saw The View, Barb Walters read out loud a letter from Paris. Supposedly, she claims she is a changed person. She's reading the Bible, and playing ping pong with the other inmates. She's only changed because she doesn't know how to cope. She has always had the best of everything without the benefit of working for it. Let's see her after her release and see if any of this sticks. For pete's sakes, she's only been in jail a few days!!!!!

No, simply because she is not undergoing a conventional custodial experience. She is being kept segregated from other inmates which implies she is exempt from normal prison labor and is being served meals inside her cell. Whereas inmates suffer many indignities stemming from the total denial of liberty, Ms. Hilton is subject ONLY to the loss of liberty with none of the normal resulting indignities.

Yes, I think she is learning an important lesson in humility. Can you even IMAGINE how mortified she must have felt, when the whole MTV awards audience cheered the announcement that she was headed for the slammer?!
And THEN, things got even WORSE! It's been quite a rude awakening for her, I'm sure!

no - she will still be doing the same things she did before she went in. Remember how she said she was all ready to go in and prepared to serve her time and it only took her 3 days to try and get out of it - that says it all.

In a way, yes; she'll learn on what she has done is bad- but maybe she'll learn next time to be more sneekier on it- then do it again and have a horrible circle.
So either way she's learned something...

Well, just a little bit. At least she will have some sense, knocked in to her head, about what is the real world. But she will always be a spoiled brat.
