About 1 month ago I went camping. It was really hot that day so I ran into the lake to cool off. I landed right on top of a nest of leashes. I was covered from head to toe. There must of been at least 25+ leaches on me.
I started screaming and crying and now I have dreams about it. Really bad mightmares. I am terrified of lakes now.

Is this normal ??? Would that be considered a horrific situation ???

Sorry, it should be spelt "leeches".
Thanks for the correction.

Girl, I'd freak out and scream and feel the same way you do....it might not be "horrific" but it's creepy and gross! I understand why you have nightmares! Poor thing! Have a super, duper, high fat, high calorie, scrumptious ice cream cone on me!!!

I've had it happen to me. I jumped into a lake, it was freezing cold and I could hardly breathe. Because I jumped into the lake from a rock - It took me ages to get out, worst of all my friends were screaming "there's an eel behind you" so of course I freaked out (there was no eel)

I got out finally, and didn't notice til after that i was covered from head to toe with leaches more than 25, they were only little ones tho. So I freaked out yeah but I didn't cry, got people to wipe me downs and stripped off (lucky it was only my female friends), chucked on a towel and there was a bout a 10 min bush walk back to the car, with me naked under my towel.

That I could handle, but I lost my favourite hat on the journey back. That was the only thing i was angry about.

Umm but no, nothing like that could make me hate lakes, i'm just a bit more careful now.

If you are referring to "leeches", the vampiric invertabrates, and not whhat you use to keep your dog from getting away, then I guess I would be pretty freaked too. But don't be scared of ALL lakes. Just ask someone if there are leeches before you go in. And remember that leeches are NOT that bad. The thought of having them on you is scary, but it's not like they will kill you.

Nahh. My nightmare was living in an apartment in NY- could only afford to eat instant pancakes and cheap syrup twice a day. By the fifth day of eating this crap, I noticed that the syrup was a bit..crunchy. I was watching TV so I had no lights on, walked over to the lamp and turned it on and there all over the plate and the pancakes were hundreds of those damn little ants that get in your pantry!! I couldnt eat pancakes with syrup for years after that! I ATE ANTS!!!! I had ants in my teeth.
I have now returned to eating pancakes, but my syrup is in the fridge and I have a phobia about ants.

I once fell into a lake really late in the night..on a little late night escapade. I was covered in leeches, and they suck, but I didn't have any lasting problems with them.

Naw, but I would not have been pleased about them. I think I would have been inclined to burn them off imediately. Also, try to change your dreams when they happen. I know I can change dreams completely when I am under.

no, it isn't horrific, its nature and it won't kill you.

try going 8 months with morters and gun fire around you 24/7 and the thought of every time you drive somewhere, you might get blown up.

now that will be on someones mind while they sleep for a long time.
