No. not really. If there are 10000000000000 other words in the dictionary, you will be okay if you dont say 6 of them

I think so. It's only a word - as long as you don't use them around children (it may sound strange of me to say this given the answer, but I think there's a time and a place to learn these things. Like middle school). Certain words - such as racial sluts and any attack on someone's religion or sexuality or gender - should never be used. But I feel you're free and fair to call someone an *** or a douche IF THEY'VE ACTUALLY DONE SOMETHING TO UPSET YOU if you feel so angry that you just have to express it verbally. Some of us find release in that, and other times, words fail us so much that we just simply switch over to what we feel is most immediate. Is there absolutely pointless swearing sometimes? Yes, like the Madonna-Letterman debacle in the 90's. But then again, we have George Carlin, who can utilize profanity to an almost artistic form (and sometimes it just sounds hilarious to people). And while some believe it's rude to swear, it's also rude to call people who do use swear words unintelligent, uneducated, and ignorant. Just because some of the words we choose may offend your sensibilities doesn't give you the right to insult our intelligence just because your own personal opinion is that you feel you have a higher moral and intellectual ground - it boils down to childish "I'm better than you" name-calling in the end anyways. It cuts both ways, and it's condescending and elitist to judge someone's standing as a person on how big their vocabulary is. Was that intelligent enough for you? I could continue this rant for so long, but it's already a long-enough answer as it is.

I would have to say No. However, I do occasionally swear... The following times this happens are as follow, but not limited to:
During SEX
When I stub my toe
If I am really running late and traffic is chaotic, it slips out
or if hubby has made me really mmmmaaaadddd, it has slipped out...
I would also like to say, as bad as it sounds the only time I see it OK in these I posted would be during SEX as even though it would be naughty, at least it is in something positive as the rest are in a negative light...
Not proud that at times I do have a potty mouth... Not good... And at least not often either, errr for the negative any ways...

Yes, damn it! The power of a word to offend lies entirely with those who are offended. If we didn't tell our children not to swear, these words would loose their power and become just ordinary words. What is really important is what you are trying to convey. You can use swear words to express something lovely and endearing, or to express something insulting and hurtful. What you are saying is more important than the words you use to do so.

About the only time I do, is when I screw up..and I wish I could control that, cause I don't think it's appropriate anytime.

Probably not really appropriate- it's kind of a disgusting habit, but I do it... :( I try not to! I'm really trying to tame it down. It's not working.

Not really, but if I stub my toe or smash my thumb, the last thing I think of is appropriateness!!!
