From that list I would choose Mother Night. Not so well known, but I believe actually better than Vonnegut's more famous novels. I also like Amy Tan, although I haven't read Joy Luck Club.

Personally I am not a reader but I love Ray Bradbury. I am the type of person who cannot sit through boring intros or boring books, and his words just capture me from the beginning. I know Fahrenheit 451 was an amazingly fun read and quick too. Also seeing as its summer reading, its going to be a great SAT and AP site-r. :) well hope you get something real good

You seem to have a choice between Asian themes, intrigue and science fiction. I enjoy Ray Bradbury (Martin Chronicles and Farenheit 451were both good reads.) I also enjoyed Amy Tan's Joy Luck Club, but I don't like the spy themes much. You have an eclectic list of genre here. It is difficult to say what you'd like, but hopefully categorizing helps you to narrow down your choices.

The Martian Chronicles is a haunting story that will cause you to think for a long time after the reading is done. If you can overlook the lack of good science (the book was written long before the Mariner fly-by) and its lack of current knowledge. Just pay attention to what is being said between the lines, it'll cause chills to run up and down the old back bone...

Those are all good books, several of them will grab you at first but may drag in the middle. Into Thin Air is really exciting and a true story. The Joy Luck Club is probably my choice.

These (the ones I read) are pretty much good, I would pick The Joy Luck Club by Amy Tan, it is really good, I'm giving a copy to my mother for her birthday. All mothers and daughters should read it.

If you like reading non-fiction, about what goes on nowadays - I recommend these two -
1) "Under the Loving Care of the Fatherly Leader"
written by Bradley K. Martin
2) "Rogue Regime"
written by Jasper Becker
These two well-written books give an insight about the North Korean Government.
Fiction?
Try all the books written by Clive Cussler.
The hero is Dirk Pitt, with his sidekick Al Giordino. These are well-written.

You've got a great list there. Why don't you make this your summer reading list.
My suggestion: start with Joy Luck Club, but jump in anywhere!
