I see Filipinos who are 5'5" or 5'2" or 5'7" and they seem like 6 footers when near the ring. But what I see in the NBA, the rings looks higher esp. seeing Yao Ming or Zydrunas Ilgauskas near.

Yes of course, it's 10 feet in official basketball courts. However, you'll find hundreds of basketball hoops that are installed at a lower height in street corners and backyards in the Philippines. Filipinos just love to play the game whatever the rim's height is.

I'm Filipino. 5'5 near the ring??? Maybe you're seeing Feihl or Balingit when you said that. We have a standard basketball ring at 10 feet hgh. Maybe your some racist guy who doesn't beleve that there are some Filipinoes standing at 7'0 and above. Yes the average Filipino height is 5'9 but please don't label us collectively.
