I just starting watching it and wanted to know how old is the main boy and how old is the main girl?

16-17. They never given them an actual age, just that we know they are the older counterpart of CardCaptors Sakura. Since Sakura and Shaoran are still in middle school in CCS is safe to assume these versions are 4 or 5 years older.

Shaoran and Sakura look like they are 14 years old, the usual age for a teenage anime character. If they are 16 years old, they will looked and acted more like the adult characters
Their originial character design came from "Card Captor Sakura", where they are 10~11 years old. Sakura's brother Touya is around 17~18 years old in "Card Captor Sakura" where he was also her brother.

in cardcaptor sakura, they were not in middle school, they were in elemtary. if saskura and shyaron were in grade 4 thast elemntary, in the second season grade 5, and movie 2 grade 6. there in elemntary. in tsubasa chronciles, when they first met, they looked around 7, i have afeeling that they are 14 in the show.
