Laptops have come a long way, screens are better, etc. I love going out on my patio with my wireless laptop, and enjoy the lake and flowers. A big change from being chained to a desktop like at work!

Laptop. On January 19, 2006, I had scoliosis surgery done. Basically, I had my whole spine rebuilt with 2 rods, 15 brackets, and 30 screws. I can't sit in a chair for more than 20 min at a time. My laptop has been my saving grace and kept me in touch with the world while I am recovering.

If you are big into computers, like gaming, a desktop is better. If you want to use a computer or possibly internet on the go, a laptop is better. If you are a casual occasional computer user, a desktop is cheaper and most likely better suited to your needs.

Desktop!!!

upgrading laptops is hard (few parts on the market for consumers)
laptops which are upgradable at all are WAY too expensive.

desktops cost less ALL the time, in ALL cases. The computer i recently built for $1000 (its really nice, intel 6400 C2D, 8800gts 2 gigs of DDR2 667) would cost easily double that, if not thrice that in laptop.

I have a desktop but I'd prefer a laptop so I can move from room to room.

I use a desktop because I have a very comfortable desk chair...ad when I have used a laptop, I have severe back muscle spasms....like I said before=== I have a great desk chair.

Well both basically. Desktop is wayy easier for me to handle but a laptop is more smaller and can bring it anywhere you like.

Laptop!!!! You can move it around with you and makes work easier. Desktop is boring and you can't move it. With a laptop you can put it wherever you want. I have one

Laptops are more convenient for travelers, but desktops don't accidentally click everything you hover over momentarily or need a number pad plugged into them...
