To me kindness is an act, a gesture. Many times in human nature it is conditional on how the giver is feeling.
I not a philosopher, just a simple woman. But, I know this much, random acts of kindess are the most moving gifts of unconditional passion.
What wisdom can a person find that is greater than kindess? The unconditional act of love and passion displayed at the cross of Christ. That wisdom is even greater than conditional kindness. In my opinion.

"That which is hateful to you, do not do to your fellow."
"If I am not for myself, who will be? If I am only for myself, what am I? If not now, when?"
Both quotes by Hillel the Elder, b. 60 BC (BCE) (and spoken long before the church ripped it off!)
