The last I checked it meant,,
1. to provide with the means or opportunity.
2. to make possible or easy
3. to give power, capacity, or sanction

I was just wondering if these were still correct ??

You are correct. In addition, an enabler makes it easier for an alcoholic or druggie to do their thing, a very common use of the word today.

Yes, you're correct. If I'm not mistaken the definition is to give someone or something the means to do something.

well, of course!!! definitions don't change so quickly...

enable means to "make possible." (in my own words)

dictionary.com's definition of "enable:"

1. to make able; give power, means, competence, or ability to; authorize: This document will enable him to pass through the enemy lines unmolested.
2. to make possible or easy: Aeronautics enables us to overcome great distances.
3. to make ready; equip (often used in combination): Web-enabled cell phones.
