Seriously, yep. Have done it in the past, and can do it again in the future. It's always nice to have back-up, but my past experience tells me it's not necessary to have that back-up.

There is one proviso of course... stand alone for a time or forever? Not sure I could go the rest of my life against the grain. That may be too long a haul.

I dont know about that one!? I've always had someone standing with me on most things, even if a lot of people are against me, i'll usually have one person.

individuality wise, definitely can.

But through hard times - probably no

I already do, and anyone can. It's a matter of survival. Anyone can do it if necessary. Just not much fun.
