I'd like to begin this statement with a disclaimer that I am not a war supporter ;) because what follows will sound like I am:

Four years ago when the US asked the UN for more involvement and investigation into the possibility that Iraq might be in possession of nuclear weapons the UN sent yet another team of inspectors- the Iraqi government would not allow these inspectors access to their nuclear facilities and had not for years. When it became obvious that a very politically divided UN (remember everyone has their own agenda) was not going to support an invasion the US went ahead on it's own (never mind that half the nation's citizens weren't so hot on the idea).
My point is that the UN hadn't been doing a very good job keeping tabs on the country when it's(Iraq's) government was relatively stable- the idea that they might try to do anything now( especially when the US holds the UN purse strings) is laughable.

Because the UN is not capable of doing anything anywhere. It has many major problems that were built in its system. First, the bureaucracy of decision making, where you must have the agreement of many countries before you could get a decision about any crisis. And many of these countries could be heavy involved in these crises. Dirty politics play a big role in what the UN can or cannot do. Then you have corruption. Because the money of the UN does not belong to any country, practically, it's being used by the UN officials as their own. The UN helped to damage Iraq during Saddam's days, and it continues to do that now by being so negative about it. As an Iraqi, I think it's better for our country to leave this freak entity which didn't offer anything to us better than the painful days of sanctions. The sanctions that made us weaker and Saddam stronger.

the un is an organisation that is mired in beurocracy and impotent because it has so many countries and special interest groups with votes that is can't seem to do anything but write out nasty letters.... making idle threats....

and when and if they do send in the troops they have shown those troops to be incompetant and as bad as the people they are protecting against.

sorry I seem to have lost myself a little there but the un is a bit of a waste of space - they require lots of funding and don't seem to be doing anything...

rememebr their office in iraq? they didn't protect it well enough and they were bombed - then the un rather than learn from it's mistake cut and run...

so they can't get a proper decision in what to do and they probably couldn't do a better job that the us is doing at the moment anyway...

it's sad people want to believe what they hear, instead of finding out the truth, the UN is a mix of all the countries, that is ignorant to blame the president, when the fact is if the UN had done something to get some of these countries harboring terrorist to turn them in, remember the people that killed several of our citizens in case you liberals forgot, which it seems you did. If they could have got those countries to turn there we wouldn't be in different nations fighting to find them like Afghanistan & Iraq, as well as neighboring countries.
We tried to be diplomatic in case you forgot that, which again you must have. In case you were wondering when it rains it's not Bush's fault because you seem to blame everything else on him, he is the President not some higher being he has so much authorities and has so many groups working in the administration. People need to pull their heads out of their asses and try to check into things before just reading some false e-mail and then slandering the president and using it as fact when it's not, that's propaganda when you do that.

Well alot of people think the UN voted to say the US should not invade Iraq.

that's a myth, the UN never has such a vote.

The UN has never even said the invasion was illegal.

Kofi Ann personally said that, but the UN it self has never even brought the matter up.

Most people don't seem to realize that all coalition forces in Iraq now, are there under UN resolutions.

UN Security Council resolution 1546 (2004)

extended by

UN Security Council resolution 1637 (2005).

and extended again by

UN Security Council resolution 1723 (2006).

created a US lead Multinational Force in Iraq.

The same kind of Force that is in Kosavo today.

what is United Nations? its a nonsense and impotent organization made by USA to present its ideas about the rest of the world, where there is a need to change the leader, where to kill poor people, where to see wethere there s anybody who tries to stand in front of USA and put it in trouble and shut them before they become a serious problem or start to exist! UN is directed by USA, its president is a driven by USA desires statue and he is the wrongly authenticated voice of USA under the shamful name of UNITED NATIONS! thats why it can never do a favour to any body anywhere in this world if that special person is known as the enemy of USA and its dictatic policies! it couldnt do anything in afghanistan because USA was the reason for its suffer and destroy, what it will do in an iraq which is the direct victim of Bush' s false slogans of democracy and human rights? that would be impossible!

human beings in the present day are a methods extra targeted on topics really than ideas. we are all unified in our objectives, in our inalienable rights, and the basic tenants of the structure. we ought to continually commence there. next we ought to continually outline u.s. by those ordinary ideas. i'm a second technology immigrant whose father got here legally from a negative u . s ., realized the custom and language and thrived. Now he receives the prospect to observe his toddlers and grand toddlers do an similar. i imagine all and multiple needs that possibility that's our beginning factor. the subsequent step is to outline HOW that occurs and the priorities to get there. inspite of the indisputable fact that, i need to upload, as a precursor to that, we ought to outline and set up independent sources of thoughts. the present media are in ordinary words PR products advertising inspite of time table they can get the most funds for. Media, is now no longer a voice of the human beings and now no longer that want informs and resources stability.

the plb is america is the greatest funder of the UN. so if the UN disagrees,
1. we don't give a damn
2. we can always threaten 2 take away the funds.

how ironic!! the UN is so like the league of nations. it has got no power whatsoever.
