I have always said that I was planning to buy a three story house so that my sons would never leave me. When they get married move right upstairs and wait for the grand babies. If my sons move away, then I have to set up camp on their lawn just to be close to them. I cannot imagine not being with my children. They will always be my babies no matter how old they are. I will however treat them like men once they reach a certain age.
My husband said if this were to happen, he will pack and start a new life all by himself. He can't wait for our kids to grow up and move out.

Our kids have long since grown up. Their kids are in University, graduated or
almost graduated. Some are working already. All we have is 1 bedroom, and the
other one has my computer, printers, etc. in it. Well, we do have 2 balconies.
Seriously, kids are better on their own, living their own lives and making their own choices. If they live with you, it stunts their maturity because mom and dad
are there to do everything for them. I'm all for them being on their own.

Absolutely not! I love my sons more than I love myself but when they are completely capable of providing for themselves (at least 6 months after COLLEGE) they have to get the heck out!! Grow up and live by themselves. I didn't leave home until I got married and that is a huge mistake. I want my sons to leave, travel the world, meet new people, live different places, but always have me to come to when needed. They have to get out to experience these things. Maybe come back if desperate!!

for a couple of years after the are of age would be okay but there is a time when they need to spread their wings and learn to fly on their own you see if we always let them live with us then how will they ever learn to walk through happiness and troubles on their own, its called enableing once we are gone then they will be lost and thats not fair to them, let them get their own family and then come visit alot, but not stay two familys in one house doesnt work very well

The only reason I may go back to a parents house to live is to take care of them if they are sick. I live in a different part of the country then my mother.

I have two grown children, and they live on their own. They're always welcomed in case of hard times, but they seem very independent.I like my freedom,I can get up and go whenever I choose to.We all prefer it that way,I guess.

No, I don't. They need to grow up sooner or later and make their own place in the world. But, they can visit as often as they wish.

no, because they are already old enough. they will have their own life and family to take care of. however, if ever they are in a hard up living situation, i would take them in and make sure that they get the problem fixed as soon as they can.

i want my kids to be able to live on their own because i won't be around forever. besides it's what's good for them, not for me. keeping them with me for a life i think is a little selfish.
