Brother, you are not going to believe this, but, while you were sleeping there was a terrorist attack on this country, it happened on September the 11th, 2001, in New York.
Nineteen terrorists affiliated with al-Qaeda hijacked four commercial passenger jet airliners. Each team of hijackers included a trained pilot. The hijackers intentionally crashed two of the airliners into the World Trade Center in New York City, one plane into each tower, resulting in the collapse of both buildings soon afterward and irreparable damage to nearby buildings. The hijackers crashed a third airliner into the Pentagon in Arlington County, Virginia, near Washington, D.C. Passengers and members of the flight crew on the fourth aircraft attempted to retake control of their plane from the hijackers; that plane crashed into a field near the town of Shanksville in rural Somerset County, Pennsylvania. In addition to the 19 hijackers, 2,973 people died; another 24 are missing and presumed dead. The victims were predominantly civilians.
In the immediate aftermath of the tragedy, our country was united as a country and many, many other countries from all over, express their condolences and condemed any and all those beleived responsible for the terrible crime.
The attacks had major global political ramifications. They were denounced by mainstream media and governments worldwide, with the headline of France's Le Monde newspaper summing up the international mood of sympathy: "We Are All Americans" (Nous sommes tous Américains).
But wait, there is more my brother, that I am going to tell you.
There is a lot more. For you know, as awful and as hellish as that was, and you can imagine the pain and the suffering of all those families affected by that tragedy,
what happened to our country after that you wont believe...

What an excellent premise. So, what would someone have missed between 2001 and mid 2007? Well, there's this little issue in the Middle East--same old, same old. Oh, and Angelina is "with" Brad...4 kids now. A show called American Idol--yea, reality television got HUGE--rules the airwaves, but that's okay because people don't watch TV anymore. They watch some other form of digitainment on high definition plasma screens. Oh, that whole thing about "global warming" (by the way, that phrase is out--it's now "climate change") that really did get worse. So, what that means is wacky weather ahead. Oh, and melting glaciers. But, there is hope, and apparently it's in the form of celebrities. Other than that, you haven't really missed much.
PS: Go on! Eat a peach!

There was this injury. It happened on 9/11/2001. From what it should have been a localized damage, somehow an infection penetrated the nation's body. It worked like a blood infection works, in the early stages is almost silent. It spread through the blood stream and goes every where, any organ may become affected. In our case the infection went to our brain and then to our heart, it disfigured America, friends had trouble recognizing us. Our brain seemed to have lost capacity and our heart appeared to be failing in spurts.
Some say, the infection only accelerated our body's tendency to weakness and our brain propensity to fits.
Others say, we will recover because we have a strong constitution (pun intended) and the patient is being transferred to a better health care facility*.
* It is well known among doctors, that University Hospital medicine is different and better than commercial medicine.
Why that is, it seems to be due to the influence of money in the commercial medicine and the influence of charity in the University hospital medicine.

So what you are saying is, instead of visiting with family/friends, having a good meal, or just celebrating life in general, etc. the first thing you do is hop online and ask a question on a service (yahoo answers) that didn't exist 6 years ago? No offense but it seems like a stretch.
What I'm saying is if I was in a coma for 6 years and I had just woke up, the first thing I would do is ask for a good meal (being that I was tube fed or IV fed for the last 6 years), then I would get in touch with family and friends, and then I would want to go out and have some fun (because I've just laid in a bed for 6 years and need OUT!) and that's for starters. It wouldn't be a week or so till I went on the computer to search for something like Yahoo! Answers. And I would have asked one of the first people I saw after I woke up what had I missed rather then waiting for a computer from someone to ask a service like this.

Your portfolio is worth 30% less, after inflation, then in Jan 2000. The average USA Citizen has 10% less salary after inflation then in Jan 2000. The surplus has changed to the largest debt ever recorded in history. 3500 young USA men and women lost their lives and 65,000 are crippled due to none existing WMD, a failure of intelligence.

You are a lucky guy. You missed Bush's raping of our constitution, you missed Bush starting an illegal and immoral war in Iraq, You missed gas prices more than doubling. I can't go on. Go back to sleep for another year and a half and you will be a new man when you wake up and Bush is gone from office.
