because our cultures are so similar therefore we compete to see who's the best. Plus no offense to americans, but some of them have very strong misconceptions about Canada which makes Canadians view them as violent idiots. Plus our governments are very different and our opinions and political views.

You know, I've often wondered this, myself. Maybe Canadians suffer from "Being-close-to-America-itis" The United States right now is suffering in the world's eye-view that we are all a bunch of ignorant, war-mongering, selfish, polluters that don't care about our fellow man. Maybe people think that Canadians are the same way? Who knows.

I know that America has always had border troubles with both Mexico and Canada. Canada has had a lot of problems with criminals from us running and hiding up there (day-to-day and also during the Vietnam war, to dodge the draft) and then there's always the fishing expedition to get them out.

All I know is, I've been to Canada (Niagara Falls and Toronto) and they were one of the nicest and frendliest people I've encountered. I always look forward to going back.
