Albania has a high percent of Muslims. During the Kosovo situation, a Muslim dominated area, Bill Clinton through NATO opposed the forces of Serbia's 'ethnic cleansing' operation. Since then the US has been seen as a particular friend of the Balkan states muslim population. I suspect that as the President of the United States, George Bush benefited from that intervention. Though many 'right wingers' have jerked Bill Clinton around on that issue, Bush himself has stated that it was the right thing to do.

I think it's funny. Albania, for crying out loud. After being snubbed at G8 by most of the nations in attendance and trying to play the big shot with Putin - and getting his wings clipped by same, it is ironic that the no-where country of Albania thinks he's great.
How funny! Maybe when he retires, he can go be president of Albania.....

I think it was all arranged by Bush's go ahead team... surely the Albanian people aren't that dumb. And I'm sure they were all rounded up and paid to stand there and cheer. hey, he wants to be loved somewhere... now if he would just go there and be there president... wouldn't it be loverly????

Albanians love America not Bush personally. They cheered him because he is the President of America. It is our country they are fans of, not the shrub.
