he gets soy formula and no he doesn't have a fever. this just started yesterday. It was the nurse I talked to and she was supposed to talk to the doctor and have them call but they haven't called. i have tried to burp him and push his knees to his belly to she if that helped but when i lay him down he also pukes. so it doesn't really matter if he is sitting or laying he pukes. the reason y i thought it might be teething is because he is also chewing .

i would say it is in between a spit up and a vomit it that makes sense but I think it is a lot to consider just spit up and it even happens 2 hours or more after he has eaten

It could be a number of things. It does sound like acid reflux. I have a granddaughter who was going through the same thing and her mother took her to the hospital and found out it was acid reflux. I would suggest that you take him to the hospital( as soon as possible ) instead of calling and let them check your baby out. Sometimes it could be colic and sometimes it could be that the baby doesn't digest certain milk good. You doesn't want to take any chances by trying to guess what the problem is. Get a professional opinion.

My Daughter was switched to the soy formula milk when she was a couple weeks old, and when started taking that she cried a lot because she was constipated from the soy milk, has he pooped, and was it normal for newborn, which soft yellow greenish, also if you're also breastfeeding what did you eat that had caffeine or did you take any medicines today? But your baby isn't teething, I think it's the milk, is he actually drink about 4 oz or under? Try putting him on your chest if he doesn't stop go for a drive babies love to ride in car, that should work, if not you may want to go to the doctor anyway, if the crying continues for more than an hour or two. Good Luck!!!!

My daughter was like that too. It know how hard it is. If you are nursing, make sure you aren't making any changes to what you are eating because that will affect him. Is he puking or spitting up? Emmy would spit up all the time. Try to give him a bath with lavender bath wash and then use lavender baby lotion and give him a baby massage. I also had to feed my daughter about an oz. at a time. Are his bowl movements normal? They should still be kind of seedy and a mustardy color. If they are green, something is bothering his tummy. Record all of this and then call your dr. The more info you can give them, they better they can help you.

It sounds like Colic. I read an article that says babies cry because of over excitement and they don't know how else to express it other than crying. Usually, colic only last the first 3 months, but until then there's really nothing you can do. I know it's frustrating. If you are married or living with someone, ask if they would be willing to take care of baby while you take a walk or go somewhere for a half hour or so to calm down. It's best to deal with crying babies when you're not at your wits end.

It seems you are having the problem I had with my son.....they switched his formula around so much ...its been about 2 1/2 yrs so I am not so sure on the name brand but what worked for my son was the soy lacto free milk. They told me he had the reflux problem and switched him and he lasted about 2 wks on A.R. formula then started vomiting so I personally had to experiment with formula until i found the right one. Hope it helps...if he is colicky try the vac *** thing that will work for a bit and also since its summer time don't let him sleep under or too close to a fan...people told me that can cause colic too.

I'm sooooo sorry I know what you're going through. It sounds like he's colicky, running the vaccuum and the dishwasher is the only thing that calmed my daughter down at first then I got her a humindifier and that seemed to help (its like white noise or something).
Its not teething its waaay to early but it might be some type of milk allergy. Switch to a soy formula for a few days and see if it helps.

It sounds as if your baby may have colic. My second born had a bit of that.
Sometimes a sudden change in air temperature could snap him out of it. If there's a dramatic difference in temperature between inside and outside, take him outside and go for a walk. Sometimes that gets the baby's mind off of their current problem and can even soothe him, especially if the outside air is cool and maybe a little rainy.
Sometimes it helped my baby and sometimes it didn't, but it's most definitely worth a try.
Good luck.
To Kymica: babies can indeed be teething at 8 weeks. My oldest was teething at that time.

First of all the baby is not teething at 8 weeks. If your doctor is of no help to you you need to find another right away, because something seems to be wrong. It could be reflux my daughter had that problem and was on a monitor because she also had apnea. Comfort your baby as much as you can, but find a doctor that will help you.

Boy do I feel for you!!! That is about the time that my daughter started everything you are describing. I tried it all too....the baby swing, white noise, rocking and it seemed that NOTHING worked. I did put her on Nutramigen (with my dr.'s o.k.) and that seemed to help, but she still had her "moments", who am I kidding, she still has her "moments". If your baby does have colic it won't take long for you to adapt to his crying. Just keep on being a great mom and know that things will get better (at least I think it does, I am still dealing with my colicy daughter!)

Are you nursing or formula? If it's gas, try laying him with his head in your hand( turn his head) and put his body on your forearm. the pressure helps relieve gas.
Is it vomit or spit-up? vomit is projectile-it can get across the room. Spit up comes out.
need more info on feeding habits
