At that time of year, shorts is probably preferred. In general it's usually in the 80's and humid. Nights you'll probably want long pants though as it can get cool.
Jacket's probably not necessary unless you want one for a date. :-)
Have a great time!

We don't have the saying "if you don't like the weather wait 5 minutes" for no reason here in New England. Right now it is in the high 50's, a few days ago it was in the 80's. A couple weeks ago there was a frost advisory out - the day before was close to 80 and after a very chilly night, temps were in the 80's again! Bring shorts and short sleeve tops, but also bring jeans and a jacket/sweater. You never know from day to day if it's going to be nice, cool, humid, etc. Be prepared for ALL types of weather, because if you're here for more than a few days, you're bound to see it all! Have fun!

How long are you staying? Oh, and are you male or female? I think you're a guy from your screen name. So, If it's around 5-7 days bring one or two pairs of jeans, one or 2 pairs of shorts, a nice blazer to dress up your jeans, a pair of pants if you want to dine someplace really nice, one nice button up shirt (same reason or to dress up your jeans), a couple tee shirts or polo type short sleeves that look nice with jeans, and a jacket you can wear in the rain, just in case. Also 1 pair sneakers and one comfortable pair of nice shoes. Temps should be 65-85F. Check the weather on www.boston.com the day before you leave for the most accurate forecast.
have fun! And anything you forget or need later can be bought at Marshalls or Filene's Basement, both on Boylston Street, for pretty cheap money.

The end of June is usually warm and sometimes stifling heat but it is also about the end of our "San Francisco like" period when occasionally the wind will shift into the east and drop the temperature 25-30 degrees from blowing off the Atlantic. But the ocean temperature in late June has usually climbed to about 60 so the east wind is not the cutting icelike breeze that chills one to the bone as it is in April.

Your wallet to pay for the outrageous prices here.
I would pack shorts for the day, something nice to wear if you go out at night. You won't need a jacket.

clearly you havent traviled in New England much. You need everything. One day might be 100 degrees and the next could be 10 degrees. Thunderstorms one minute and the next not a cloud in sight. Pack smart one of everything!!!!
