What? Hold on. "...the second time I used it?"
Now do you mean just the second tampon you've ever used--and it hurts? Tampons should never hurt when you get them in correctly. (Make sure you take the first one out--a lot of first-time tampon users forget and try to put another tampon inside when there is already one in there.) Look at this website. It is especially for young women using their first (or first few) tampons. It will tell you how to insert it correctly so that it doesn't hurt.

It shouldn't hurt to use a tampon. You probably don't have it inserted far enough. push the applicator in as far as you can before you push the plunger part of it. You shouldn't feel it at all once it's in. If inserting it farther doesn't help, then try a smaller size tampon. Starting out with Junior sizes is always a good idea.

Good luck!

Your body is not used to having a foreign object inside it. Especially such a sensative part.

Until your body is used to them it may be uncomfortable, but not hurt.

If it is hurting remove the tampon and place it back in higher. Relax as much as you can while inserting it as tensing up stops it sliding into the vagina as high as it needs to go.

Also try using a smaller, silk lined tampon until you get used to it. The size may be too large. And if they are not silky lined they tend not top slide in as easy and result in pain.

No, it shouldn't hurt. Either the tampon is the incorrect size, it's not inserted correctly or you need some extra lubrication.

Not really. You might feel a little discomfort but that's about it.

Duh - if you reuse it, you're supposed to turn it around and use the other side ;););)

Seriously though - Tampons (like condoms) are designed for ONE TIME use.
