Absolutely! Some company came out a few years ago, and said the techology was finally made. Believe one of the airlines even bought it. Oooops, this was a couple of years AFTER 9/11.

I see no physical reason why a cell phone shouldn't work in an airplane. All that is needed is a direct connection to a tower, which should be very easy at 30,000+ feet. Trust me, if I can use a cell phone from a 12,000 foot mountain pass when there is no tower for twenty miles, you can definitely use one on an airplane. Distance from a tower is not what causes you to lose signal, it is the horizon that causes you to lose signal. Think three dimensionally and it becomes obvious, we live on a sphere, not a flat sheet of paper.
I will now suggest that Loose Change's conclusions are incorrect and lack scientific credibility to back them.

Cell phones can work sometimes they just dont want you to use them because they can interfere with the signals from the towers.
Also, they still had the airplane phones that are in each seat.
PS- Loose Change's proof is nothing but crappy, fuzzy pictures...

And those receiving a paycheck not to see will confuse everyone , failing that they will call you names
