Come on you cant fault with this kid, nice handles, blazing speed and superb passing skills...nice slashing skills and great teardrop too, top it off with fearsome fastbreak skills, hard to forget his only 25...
What more can you ask from a point guard? I was watching game 1 and 2 finals and he was just the go to guy and the best along with duncan...
Will he be the next best small guard? His slashing and fastbreak skills( and also his fearlessness, he kept driving to the hole) resembles allen iverson( but of course he got better passing skills(arguable) and a GREAT supporting cast )...
btw no disrespect to AI, AI is my fav player but his getting old and they lost to spurs ARRGGHHH!!!(T-T)....

I've always thought of Tony Parker as a very dangerous player since he was 19 during the 01-02 season. Hard to believe he was only 19 back then considering how poised he was. You can't compare these two players because they have very different styles, but he reminds me of Steve Nash a bit because of his ability to hit clutch shots. Maybe it's also because they both shoot over 50% (I believe they're the only two point guards in the league who do this, and it's such a rare feat that it has to be recognized). I agree though, he's a huge talent in this league and a top 5 point guard in my book for sure.

It's easy to say that when you have a guy like Tim Duncan on your team. AI never had a legitimate big men or a very effective system. Nene is getting there and Camby plays good defense but only time will tell if the system or chemistry is right in Denver.

I guess it depends on what criteria you use to judge him and what kind of team you're talking about. With a team like the Spurs, he's a great fit because he provides relief from Duncan having to always be the scoring threat. He's got great percentages (which means you have to respect his shot) and he's definitely not afraid to take it to the basket. He contrasts the Spurs deliberate offensive style and keeps other teams guessing. So it works great.
But on a team like the Nets or Suns where you need a facilitator, I don't think he would be as great as Nash or Kidd. Those teams need a facilitator and leader who can appease the other superstars (like Amare, Carter), take charge of the pace, and dish like no other.
Like Arenas, he's got amazing talent and great to watch (especially on a team like the Snooz. I mean the Spurs), but my one knock on him is that he hasn't proved himself to be a leader. The one that the team looks to. Granted he hasn't had to because of Duncan, but once Duncan retires, will Tony be the man? I'm not so sure. Of all the younger PGs, I would rather have a guy like Deron Williams, Captain Kirk or CP3 to handle the ball.

I wouldn't say underrated, he is great and gets much credit. The only thing you can take away from him is that he's had a great team for a long time. So, who knows if he is good enough to have a team built around him like Nash or AI. Also, his defense sucks.

tony parker is the real deal man. this man is fast as hell and he can shoot now. before he couldnt shoot that good but now hes money. hes the best in the league at the pick and roll and shows time and time again hes the man at it. he adjusts to defenses if they shitty or amazing. hes the total package and if i could make a basketball team right now i'd prolly want him leadin my team cuz hes a good guy too. if he wasnt a superstar then why is he with eva longoria.

Remember, as good as Tony Parker is, he still has the luxury of playing with Tim Duncan. When Duncan is gone, we will see how good he really is.
