They say they believe in small government, but their administrations grow the government faster than their opposition.
They say they believe in fiscal responsibility, but their administrations can't stay within budget yet their opposition can.
They say to live within your means. But, most can be found living in extreme debt, while owning big houses and driving SUV's.
They talk about blue sky initiatives, but they really mean to relax regulations on industry to allow for more pollution. But if someone attempts to conserve (e.g. use alternative fuels, buy small efficient vehicles, or hug trees) they attack them as if it'll destroy the world.

When did conservative start meaning use all the worlds resources as fast as possible, instill fear, and provoke wars in order to achieve the end of the human race?

How is it you can be a conservative and be so wasteful?

I don't think the republican party really has much in common with the party of Lincoln and Jefferson, the republican party is now the people who would have been democrats before the civil rights era, my 2 cents

Well, first off , I think you just lumped everyone that does not see your point of view, as virtually being in office in the Republican party.

1. I believe in small government. but I don't own an administration so I am not growing one

I believe in fiscal responsibility, live within my means, am debt free and working and saving. I don't own big SUV's or a mansion. I don't care what kind of vehicle anyone else drives and don't attack them for it.

There aren't many people tighter than I am on energy use. The air does not go on until 80+ degrees in my house. The heat goes on when it hits 64 degrees.

Neither party is the shining light for any kind of example on anything. They both just play their own brand of games.

Now, seems your problem centers on Professional Politicians in Washington. Not me or the average conservative Joe. If anyone lived their personal lives or ran their businesses like politicians run our country, there would be no country to run.

Seems to me the only responsible INDIVIDUALS are the ones not in Politics. You had a long winded rant attacking conservatives so I felt this long rebuttal was needed.

What world are you living in?

Small government? In my world, liberals gave us The New Deal and The Great Society, which dwarf any other growth of government by anybody.

Fiscal responsibility? In my world, administration don't balance budgets, because it's the House of Representatives that passes spending bills. In my world, the first balanced budget in decades was passed by the first Republican Congress in decades.

Live within your means? Living in debt does not mean you are not living within your means. See Economics 101.

Blue sky initiatives? In my world, our environment has been getting cleaner for decades, and free market principles have led us to reduce greenhouse gas emissions more than the commie liberal euroweenies and their cap and trade crap.

Conservative doesn't mean that, but your liberal mainstream media is succeeding in convincing you that it does.

How is it you can be a liberal and be so close-minded?

P.S. Ah. I see your confusion. You figure because "conservative" sounds like "conservation" that conseratives must be conservationists.

Um. No.

It's not that conservatives are against conservation, it's that they don't think spending a whole bunch of money on something that really doesn't do a whole lot of good, just to make liberals feel better, is not a good use of said money.

Democrats have been more fiscally conservative then the Republicans since the Ronald Reagan reign. This was a downturn in their own policies that they fail to follow. Conservative Republican is a oxymoron when they favor the rich and reject any regulation with regards to pollution over the profit margin.

as a very general rule, most consevetives align themselves with big business. most time business interests run contrary to conservation. and most conservetives who are concerned about environmental issues, still dont see it as a top priority.

i disagree with the general tone of your question though and the generalization it makes. trust me, liberals live in great big houses with suv's too. in fact, i would pose the question to you; how come liberals are such hyporcites when it comes to environmental issues?
