well if you were maby 15 or 16 years old, and you met a girl or guy on the internet and knew that the person wasnt a predator, and then fell in love with the person, would you meet them in person some time in the future? even if they lived on the other side of the country?

I would definitely keep the friendship going. Since you are the guy, I doubt you are being chased by a female predator, it's not very common. I think the internet is a resourceful tool in dating today. It's an easy way to meet people. To me it's way better than meeting someone in a bar. I will have to say though that you are very young, and it probably won't last forever. I don't think it would hurt anything to give it a shot as long as you have a responsible adult to know what you are up to. But, even if you don't have the resources at this age to meet in person, you should still keep in contact. You never know what can develop when you are out of school. Maybe you could go to college at the same university. Good luck with your new friend.

Dude some predators spend years talking to ppl & there's no way to tell if they're a predator or not. Even if you heard they're voice. Why? because 1st of all they have things called voice changers. I had one when i was in 4th grade [im in 9th now] 2nd: you can't tell what a person is like by the sound of your voice. But if you don't care about my advice 7 are going to meet them anyway, i suggest that you don't go alone.

Of course, I'd meet that person in the future or even tomorrow. I've met lots of men through internet sites and only one was scary and he's not the one in prison now.

There are safety tips. You let people know where you are, you meet in a public place and you leave that public place separately. She can come to your area.

At your age, your parents are not going to let you travel across country by yourself to meet someone they don't know and can't check out, which is a good thing. Let them meet her and then they can retreat across the restaurant or park while you two talk face-to-face for a while.

If you act sensibly, your parents should agree to the meeting in principle, even if they balk at paying for the travel. Start saving your money and acting like someone who's got good judgement.

No, you shouldn't. This person MIGHT be a predator and something bad might happen. What happens if the other person doesn't want to meet you? You should just talk to each other online. Oh yeah, have you ever heard of cyberbullies? Be careful.

you dont love her. you've never met her. There are couples (in person) that think they love eachother and the second you two move in together you realize how different you are and they split. It takes more than conversation to love someone. It takes experience together. People can be whoever they want on the computer. get to know her in person and you might grow to love her. You might know her dislikes, likes, favorite food, birthday, etc.. but you still don't know 2% of her. There are things about a person you can't explain. Their temper when they don't get their way, she could be abusive when she gets mad, etc.. you need to get to know her more before you say you love her

i definitely agree with the public place. that way if they turn out to be a predator, you will be in public view and not in as much danger
