Become a lawyer first. Try and get a job/internship at an agency in the meantime.

As in most industries, it helps if you know someone. Look at your network of friends and family and ask if they have connections with NBA or NFL. If not, get out and start meeting the "right" people. Most jobs, in any industry are filled with friends and/or family.
